Member Spotlight: Morgan Construction Wales – Building the next generation of talent
At CCTAL, we’re proud to highlight one of our members, Morgan Construction Wales (MCW), for their incredible work in nurturing young talent. By offering hands-on apprenticeships, mentorship, and real-world experience, they’re helping shape the future of construction. Meet James Lloyd, Dennis Moore, Leia Bovett, and Rhodri Thomas – four apprentices whose stories show the importance of opportunity and support in building rewarding careers.
Finding their paths in construction
James Lloyd, now 24, first dreamed of becoming an architect but found his passion in Quantity Surveying after work experience opened his eyes to the mix of design, finance, and problem-solving involved. Despite setbacks like the closure of his first employer, James pushed forward, joining Morgan Construction Wales and earning a first-class degree. Today, he manages contracts, costs, and budgets, bringing projects to life.
For Dennis Moore, construction was always the goal. At 23, he’s already a skilled groundworker after completing his Level 2 Diploma in Construction Operations. Dennis joined MCW directly, tackling key tasks like laying foundations and ensuring project safety.
Leia Bovett, 17, found her passion in civil engineering through school and college. Now a civil engineering apprentice with MCW, she’s already making an impact by digitising health and safety processes.
Rhodri Thomas, 23, followed his family footsteps into the industry and is excelling in his degree apprenticeship in Construction Management and Technology. As a site engineer at MCW, he combines technical tools and teamwork to solve on-site challenges and deliver results.

Leia’s managers encourage her to innovate. Her work digitising safety forms has streamlined processes, saving time and improving accuracy. Alongside her practical experience, she’s also studying for her BTEC Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Rhodri’s hands-on training includes advanced surveying with GPS tools and certifications like Working at Height and Site Supervisor Safety Training. He appreciates how MCW helps him connect what he learns at university to real-world projects.
Every day at Morgan Construction Wales brings new challenges and opportunities. James loves seeing a project go from blueprints to finished homes.
