Welcoming GS6 Developments Ltd to the CCTAL Network

At CCTAL, we are pleased to welcome GS6 Developments Ltd as the newest member of our growing construction network.
Founded in 2019 by former professional rugby player Aaron Shingler, GS6 Developments has quickly established itself as a trusted name in new build and renovation projects across Swansea, Carmarthen, Llanelli and wider South Wales.
Aaron launched the company during a challenging period in his rugby career after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), a serious knee injury, and facing uncertainty about whether he would be able to return to the pitch. While recovering, he and his wife Katie used the opportunity to establish a new business together, stepping into property development without previous industry experience.
From the outset, Aaron built a team of highly trained tradesmen, many with more than 30 years of experience. He learned from their expertise while focusing on acquiring land and shaping the company’s vision, with the team bringing each project to life. As Aaron reflects, starting the business was certainly a gamble, but one that has paid off.
Since retiring from professional rugby three years ago, Aaron has thrown himself fully into the company, driving its growth and taking on an increasing demand for residential and commercial projects. His years representing the Scarlets and Wales continue to influence the culture of the business, embedding teamwork, resilience and discipline at every level.
Although GS6 has not yet taken on apprentices, joining CCTAL marks an important step toward doing so. Aaron was keen to find the right pathway into apprenticeships and researched organisations that could support the company as it begins welcoming young talent.
Becoming a CCTAL member gives GS6 access to the structure and guidance needed to start developing the next generation of construction workers. Aaron is enthusiastic about creating opportunities for young people and sees future apprentices as an important part of GS6’s continued growth, helping to build a skilled and energetic team with a bright future ahead.
The company’s recent work includes serving as the main contractor for the new Mind mental health centre in Llanelli, renovating and constructing a community café space. Aaron finds this project especially rewarding, as it enables him to support the community he grew up in and explore a new area of construction work.
As part of the CCTAL network, GS6 Developments now has access to industry support, training opportunities and a clear route to nurturing new talent. We are delighted to welcome GS6 and look forward to seeing their continued impact across South Wales, both through the quality of the projects they deliver and the young people they will soon help guide into the construction industry.
