Another successful AGM – CCTAL AGM 2026

We were pleased to host our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, 15 April at 12:00pm at the Diplomat Hotel in Llanelli.
The meeting gave us a chance to look back on the past year, share updates, and outline our plans for the months ahead. It was also a great opportunity for networking, bringing together our members alongside local construction companies and trades who are not yet part of CCTAL. This allowed guests to learn more about what we do while connecting with others across the local industry.
We were delighted to welcome representatives from a wide range of organisations, including ACOP Group, Alpha Safety, Carmarthenshire County Council, CITB, Coleg Sir Gar, CWIC, CWIC Scaffolding Academy, Genpower, Green Academy – Coleg Sir Gar, Korbuild, Mind Llanelli, Morgan La Roche Solicitors, Prostate Cymru, Seren Global Media, Cyfle Building Skills and UWTSD Framework.
Our Chairman, Delwyn Jones, opened the meeting with an update on our progress and shared his thoughts on the direction of CCTAL. This was followed by a financial overview, giving members a clear picture of where we are currently. Over the past year, we delivered 261 training courses, supporting more than 818 candidates. This included 60 traditionally booked courses with 187 candidates, as well as 201 CITB Employer Network courses supporting a further 631 candidates.
Our Training Manager, Lynette Anthony, spoke about what has been achieved over the past year and what lies ahead in 2026. A key focus was the Pathway to Your Future programme, which helped young people gain access to work experience in the construction industry. Over the past year, 13 candidates took part in six-week work experience placements across 12 companies. From this, 12 candidates moved into apprenticeships, most with their placement contractors, whilst one candidate went on to a full-time college course.
Lynette also shared updates on several community projects supported by our network:
Mind Llanelli – At Mind Llanelli, work is currently underway to convert a vacant shop next to the main building into a Young People’s Crisis Prevention Café, helping to strengthen local mental health support. The first phase of the project was led by one of our members, GS6 Developments, with additional support from fellow members J Randall and TRJ, who generously contributed both materials and labour.
PLANED – We also supported improvement works at the Carmarthenshire Living Well Centre at Parc Dewi Sant in partnership with Carmarthenshire County Council and PLANED. This included decorating, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. Candidates from our Pathway to Your Future programme were involved throughout, gaining real-life experience on a live project.
Ammanford RFC – In Ammanford, our member Hughes Decorators carried out repainting work throughout the rugby club, including the changing rooms, corridors, stairways, bar, function rooms, and bathrooms, giving the whole facility a well-deserved refresh.
Looking ahead, two new projects were introduced to our members: a redecoration project at Brynamman Cinema, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in May, and improvement works for Ammanford Football Club’s changing rooms. Members were invited to support these projects through labour, materials, or funding, and encouraged to nominate other community projects for consideration.
We had the privilege of being joined by representatives from Prostate Cymru, who spoke about prostate cancer, including symptoms to look out for, the importance of early testing – supported through their dedicated testing days – and the services available. They also highlighted ways local businesses can get involved and support their work.
A raffle was also held throughout the afternoon, which raised £330, with all proceeds donated directly to Prostate Cymru. The raffle included a JCB Pro Kit – Combi Drill and Impact Driver, kindly donated by Genpower, a £100 voucher for The Dylan Coastal Resort, a £50 voucher for The New Curiosity Restaurant in Carmarthen, and a £25 Marks and Spencer voucher, all kindly donated by CCTAL.
Lynette Anthony, Training Manager, said:
“As always, it was great to see so many of our members at this year’s AGM. It was a good opportunity to share updates on our training, look ahead to what’s coming next, and talk through the work we’re doing across our community projects. The level of engagement and input from members continues to shape what we do, and we’re looking forward to building on that over the coming year.”
All of the team at CCTAL would like to thank everyone who attended and contributed. The AGM provided useful feedback from across our membership, which will directly inform the work we take forward this year. We look forward to continuing to work together to support the local industry and wider community.
